Three, Two, One Day until the 2014 Walk!

Thank you to all who have already committed to walking tomorrow afternoon! Thanks also go to everyone who has sponsored a walker by making a donation! We can still use more participants tomorrow, especially helpers to host rest stops, serve refreshments after the walk, set-up, check-in walkers, help keep track of donations, and take down signs. If you can help, please email renatahundley@gmail.com  or call 658-7446.

Walkers, when you arrive (between 1:00 and 1:45), be sure to turn in your envelope or bring a printout from your online fundraising site.  You'll be given a special CROP scarf and if you raised $100 or more, a special cloisonne pin.  Since the CROP logo has changed, we were given these "old logo" items that we are able to pass on to this year's participants.  (Come early since we have a limited supply!)

We also have some t-shirts left over from last year.  Although they have 2013 printed on the back, we will give them to our volunteer helpers so you can recognize them in case you have questions or need some help.

Join us on September 14th to learn more about the CROP Hunger Walk

With the hunger walk a little more than a month away, we will be coming together to dispense hunger Walk materials and information to recruiters, sponsors, and anyone else who would like to help in some way.

Julie Brumana, Southwest Region Field Director of CROP's umbrella organization, Church World Service, will be there to share how CROP Hunger Walks provide food and clean water to communities in Ventura, the U.S. and around the world.  We will have available free DVDs and program resources for churches, community groups and schools. We'll also have lots of tips to help you raise funds, and we'll have more information on how you and your group can have fun walking or running while helping fight hunger!

SAVE THE 2014 DATE!

The afternoon of Sunday, October 5th, will be the date of our next Walk Against Hunger.  It will begin and end in the same place as most of the over thirty years the walk has been held - 1338 E.
